We all leave our own imprint on the home we live in and studies have shown that our moods and lifestyles are greatly dependent on how the home is decorated and furnished. For example if the rooms in the house are clean and neat looking, along with them being welcoming and homey, our mood is usually happier and we live also healthier, more stress free and more content lives. Here are a few home decor tips that should get you started in making your home more appealing and welcoming.

It is important to always have a focal point in the rooms, a center point that is the focus of attention when anyone is entering it. A beautiful wall painting, an antique vase, a Reiki indoor space.

Use only positive colors in the rooms where you spend the most of your time at home. You want to have colors that give you positive energy at all times, so you can easily forget the stress from work and leave all that behind you.

The furniture pieces should complement well each other in size and also match well within the actual space. For example if you have a tiny room, hanging a chandelier lamp from the ceiling will seem very out of place. The right balance and proportion can work wonders even if rooms that don’t have much furniture or seemingly have nothing to be proud about. The items in the room should be in harmony with each other. Everything needs to show that it belongs right there, where it is placed.

Make sure that you get the right type of lighting in the room as proper illumination can set the mood and ambient of that room. Use a dimmer switch connected to a wall light or some arch floor lamps that can be used based on the season of the year and the time of the day.

For that extra elegant ambient in the room you can easily add a few Kathy Ireland table lamps for accent lighting. Visit table lamps to get more information.

The word chakra is actually a Sanskrit word, which means spherical and it denotes the seven energy points of our body. These are the energy whorls linked to the infinite universal energy being the receiving and transmitting centers for the same. Thus open chakras for the sake of remaining healthy physically, mentally and spiritually.

Open chakras which are closed, blocked, or under active. The flow of energy from such a chakra needs to be opened up and balanced for the proper functioning of the physical and emotional aspects of that chakra. Hence, you should undertake a chakra test to identify the under active and blocked ones and thereafter open chakras through methods like meditation and other chakra exercises.

Firstly, to open chakras, you need to identify the chakras that are blocked. This can be clearly understood from the mental or physical fear a person feels. For example, your solar plexus chakra needs to be opened and the energy flow balanced thereof in case you have digestive problems. Again, and your heart chakra needs to be opened in case you constantly suffer from the fear of betrayal, being hurt by a loved one, etc.

Anybody can go through a simple procedure of exercise to understand which chakras are causing trouble. A partner is needed to perform it. One has to stand straight, with his dominant hand stretched out on one side. He has to place his other hand on the different chakras one by one. This has to be done with concentration. Now the partner has to push down his dominant hand. This has to be done in two full rounds for all the seven chakras. Pushing down the dominant hand of the individual by his partner will be hard for strong chakras while easy for chakras that are closed.

The closed or faulty chakras being identified, you can now open chakras by some simple techniques. One of them is meditation. The seven chakras of our body are represented by lotuses having specific number of petals and colors against them. All you have to do is meditate by visualizing the flower in the spot of the chakra while intensely concentrating and focusing on it to open up.

Chakra exercises are also useful in the opening up of chakras. It requires a given sitting position with a hand formation for each chakra known as a ‘mudra’. Here, you have to have a calm and clear mind and perform these mudras with the correct breathing procedures coupling it with the strength of ancient Sanskrit word sounds. Thus, open chakras with such effective chakra exercises and sound therapy.

One can also open chakras by psychological ways like positive thinking. The positive sides of the chakras relates to emotions while the negative relates to fear. As an example, the solar plexus chakra is responsible for self esteem, self confidence and courage in the positive side and fear of rejection, criticism in the negative pole. If you try to overcome these problems, your solar plexus chakra will open up improving your physical digestive system in the process.

The bottom-line is, analyze the chakras, find out which are doing well and which are the ones that need opening up. Select the techniques in order to open up the under-active ones. Your body will never be the same again with all the chakras opened up and free flow of energy throughout the body.
