If you don’t know reiki, google it. Reiki basically means "universal energy" in Japanese. Practically speaking Reiki is used by practitioners to assist people in healing. It does NOT replace traditional medicine, only supplements it.

Yes, I believe in Reiki’s practical applications because I have seen it’s effects. I am a Reiki practitioner and have seen aches and pains go away almost instantly when I’ve worked on clients, friends and family. Reiki is not always instant relief, sometimes it takes multiple sessions for the client to feel any significant relief. I also have seen puppies that were so weak and small gain over an ounce overnight after receiving Reiki energy.

I also believe that in order to receive a healing, you have to be open to receiving the healing in your deepest soul. If you have an illness or disease due to a karmic issue, than it doesn’t matter what kind of treatment you complete, nothing will help until the lessons involved with that illness or disease has been learned.

I am curious to find out more about different theories of energy: Are there different types of energy, or is all energy basically the same? For example, can "negative energy" ever be used to heal someone or is it only ever useful to hurt? Or is the truth somewhere in-between these polarities?

No right or wrong answers, but don’t make it personal and don’t answer if you haven’t got something to say. The most intriguing and detailed answer gets the 10 points.

Good question. Well, energy comes as magnetic or electrical energy. Both have positive and negative ends of the spectrum. These *are* the kinds of energy that are manipulated in healing work, etc. In this instance, positive and negative aren’t the same as "good" and "bad," they are just opposites. However, energy can be manipulated to be constructive (positive) or destructive (negative).

So you can use destructive (negative) energy to heal someone by destroying the cause of the illness – the virus or cancer, etc., just as well as you could use constructive (positive) energy to bring health to that same person.

Do you believe that it must be given to you by someone who already has it? If so, how is that done?
Mantra, what happens during an attunement? How is it done?

The Universal Life Force (Reiki) is a gift from the Universe to all beings. It is given at the moment of conception and stays with you for the rest of your life. You can tap into it at any time. A Reiki Practitioner does not give energy to the client but rather facilitates the synchronisation of the client with the Universe for the purpose of healing.

A description of Reiki is found in Sanskrit texts dating back more than 4,000 years. The knowledge on how to use Reiki was either lost or not known about for a long time. The use of Reiki has been resurrected by many individuals over the last two hundred years.

Unfortunately, it is difficult to learn on your own without any instruction. Reading books and the Internet can help with developing Reiki knowledge.

The Japanese Usui Reiki requires some discipline. For example: that training be pass on by a qualified Master to a Student, that the lineage between the Master and the Master’s Master be known, that a suitable exchange of energy take place between the Master and the student by the exchange of goods or money for teaching services provided, that the Master certify the ability of the student and that the Master provided an “attunement” to certify the students ability.

I am a Reiki II practitioner and have been attuned to Usui Reiki since February of this year icon smile What are some exersises to improve Reiki flow ?? Let it be clear that i am not asking your opinion on the existence of Reiki, I am asking if anyone has any exercises that help strengthen the energy flow you channel? icon biggrin What are some exersises to improve Reiki flow ?? Thank you sooo much icon smile What are some exersises to improve Reiki flow ??
Love Light and Peace:)

Practicing as much as possible is the best way to strengthen your channel. Practice on as many different people, animals, and plants as you are able – don’t forget daily self-treatments. The clearer your own energy channels are, the better the Reiki energy will be able to flow through you. And the more you practice, the more your ability to sense and indentify differences in the energy, which will in turn build your confidence further. Also, since it’s like any other exercise routine, the more you practice, the more adept you get.

To the end of clearing and strengthening you own energy channels, you may also wish to begin a daily program of working with your chakras. I require all my Reiki IIs to begin a chakra practice of some sort, and provide them with some guided meditations to get them started. The stronger and clearer you get your energy flow, and the more Lightenergy that you body can comfortably hold, the more Reiki energy will be able to flow through you. There are all sorts of different methods out there. Again, self-treating is one way, though I would like to see you taking a more conscious/active approach through meditation. If you Google "chakra meditations" you’ll find ALOT out there – surf around and see which one’s you like best. I recommend a program that includes chanting/toning as well as visualization of the colors and energy. Bringing the vibrations of sound in the meditations makes it extremely powerful. My ALL TIME FAVORITE chakra meditation cd (actually you can get it as an instant mp3 download for about $10) is called Chakras Gone Wild by Allen Burns: http://www.metastudies.com/store/product…
If you get it (or any other album that includes chanting or toning on the appropriate notes and syllables) make sure to chant/tone along with it as you meditate on the various colors of the chakras. Chakras Gone Wild lasts about 5 minutes on each chakra, so you can do the whole thing in about 35 minutes, and it’s alot of fun and VERY effective. It layers chanting of the sanskrit mantra of each chakra, done in the corresponding musical note, with soundscapes also designed to awaken the chakra. It’s really amazing. I use it all the time, and it’s part of my chakra balancing treatment package that I have for clients.

Another really amazing way to help "strengthen" your channel is through mindfulness meditation. The largest impediment to your channel is your ego, so the more you can let go and get yourself out of the way of the energy, the stronger the energy will come through. This is one of the true core lessons of Reiki, but sadly most Western classes do not give instruction on the basic methods that one can use to develop their ability to let to. Mindfulness is really one of the best, and the easiest to learn (although difficult to master, as any form of meditation is).

A great site where you can learn more about it is http://www.wildmind.org/mindfulness. I can’t recommend it, and the practice of mindfulness enough. It teaches you to let go and just "be" with as few attachments as possible to your thoughts or your surroundings. You become very present and focused on the current moment without clinging – and THAT will allow the Reiki to come through the most clearly and strongly. I teach basic mindfulness meditation as a part of all my Reiki classes.

There are also exercises that come out of the Japanese Reiki traditions that are meant to help strengthen your connection to the energy.
Here are some links to some of those exercises:
http://www.threshold.ca/reiki/ – this is a pretty comprehensive page, just click on the various exercise titles in blue, and you will be brought to a seperate page describing the exercise and what it is meant to accomplish; Hatsurei-ho is the exercise specifically for increasing your channel.

http://www.reiki.org/reikinews/reikimedi… this is a 21 day meditation routine designed to help clear and open you to greater amounts of energy.

Also, if you have any friends who are Reiki Masters, ask if they will give you repeat attunements. The one-time-attunement method that we know know was not part of Usui’s original Reiki system. He provided regular "empowerments" called reiju. Getting new attunements can act as a kind of reiju by providing you with an extra large burst of energy for your body to utilize for clearing and charging. It’s not necessary, obviously, but I do know that some practitioners that like to get new attunements on a regular basis for this reason. If 2 Masters are friends, they may swap from time to time. Again, this is not necessary, but can help increase your own energetic health and stamina, which will increase your channel.

Hope these ideas have helped – but honestly, the best way is just to PRACTICE!! You’ll eventually develop the abilities on your own, but these are some ways you can help speed things along!

Blessings!

I am 20 yrs old, I have a problem of underdeveloped breast, I contacted a reiki practitioner and she suggested to learn reiki to cure this problem, now I want to know will it be helpful to cure my problem, I am very confused, plz help me as soon as possible.

Reiki will not help in this instance. There is usually confusion about what Reiki can and can’t do. And there are some who believe it is all a scam. However, as a form of self-realization, it is beneficial. As a stress reducer, or relaxation technique it is useful. It’s helped people to cope naturally with things like high blood pressure, so it is helpful medically in certain cases. But it won’t help with underdeveloped breasts, I’m afraid.

I have many books on healing. I am a Reiki practitioner & studied Science of Mind. I also use EFT. What do you do? Any details are appreciated.

1) The Fourfold Path to Healing by Thomas Cowan, MD (anthroposophical medicine, with sections on causes of disease, and the need for animal food and healthy fats, which are amongst the BEST I have ever read, and which I have seen discussed almost nowhere else.) Best new book on healing I’ve read in the last decade or more
2) You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay (her affirmations and the chart in the back of the book that discusses the emotional and spiritual causes of disease are so right-on that a) I have multiple copies, and give this as a gift to friends dealing with healing crises, and b) I rarely bother to look anywhere else b/c she is so incredibly right-on and accurate. If you are a healer, this chart alone can save you MONTHS or even years of working with a person on their issues, and with what is currently going on in the world right now, I am unclear that we have months or years to be trying for a breakthrough.)
3) Prescription for Nutritional Healing by Balch and Balch (orthomolecular (supplementation with vitamins and herbs) medicine w/ much emphasis also placed on herbs, homeopathy and other healing processes/modalities in later volumes
4) Anything by Susun Weed (specializes in East Coast herbs and women’s issues)
5) Anything by Michael Moore (specializes in West Coast North American herbs)
6) Anything by Michael Tierra, Rosemary Gladstar, Kathi Keville, Candace Cantin-Packard
7) Anything by Diane Stein, especially All Women Are Healers
icon cool Are you a healing practitioner? What is the best healing book you know of? Staying Healthy with the Seasons by Elson Haas–the best discussion and practicuum (how to live/do) for Taoist 5 Element Theory I have ever seen, and a vitally important read for any natural healer, especially those practitioners of acupuncture and TCM, but truly for everyone, especially if you eat food…
9) Amadea Morningstar’s and Dr. Vasant Lad’s books on Ayurveda
10) Homeopathic Medicine at Home by Panos and Heimlich, and Everybody’s Guide to Homeopathic Medicine by Ullman. (I greatly prefer the first volume.)
11) The Scientific Validation of Herbal Medicine by Daniel Mowrey
12) Anything by Christopher Hobbs

There are SO many others. Please contact me if you would like further info.

I have completed the course in reiki (second degree). Would any reiki practitioner to cooperate with me ? I have the second reiki degree since 2003.

What are you asking for? What’s "cooperate"?
If you’re looking to network, your Reiki teacher can help you find other students.

I see a alternative healer (reflexologist, reiki , shiatsu etc) and I am very drawn to her and can’t stop thinking about her. Do the same rules apply as in NO DATING? as it does with Conventional doctors and therapists?

Of course the same rules do not apply ….. if they did, their "treatments" would have to undergo scientific testing and the medical approval process mandated by FDA … and the ‘practitioners’ would all have to be licensed ..
