I dont know anyone else who knows reiki healing so i cant be initiated by someone else. Can I master it on my own by reading books about it and meditation and practice?

I do not think so. In fact, I do not think Reiki has any scientific evidence to do anything at all. If you can find someone who can prove it, please contact James Randi (randi.org) and tell him, as he will give whoever can prove otherwise 1 million dollars.
