Yes or No? Please give reasons.
That depends on a lot of factors. You need to consider where you live — if you live in a large city, you’re more likely to be able to make a living at it, as opposed to living in a smaller city where people either have less disposable income or they’re more skeptical of alternative medicine. I certainly don’t think you’ll be able to get rich doing it, so you should ask around and find out what a typical income is for people who have existing practices.

I would definitely recommend having a Reiki practice but I would not recommend quitting your day job.
It is wonderful work and can provide a nice supplement to your regular income but it is difficult to build a client base large enough to provide for your entire income as the average person does not know What Reiki or energy work are.
You would have to have a lot of time and money available to invest in educating people and to reaching those who are already aware to build your business.
It can be done but, unless you do something else like massage, it is very difficult.
I do love doing Reiki and would not give up my practice fo anything but it is not my livelihhood and will not be unless I come up with a lot more time and money to finance it.

Yes. I know a few people that do really well with reiki. Although they are also massage therapists. I think it is more a thing for massage therapists to add to their practice. But anyone can do it. If you want to make a living I would recommend you go all the way to master so you can give sessions and teach it as well. Good luck!

Depends on how ethical you are. If you can stand scamming people for a living, then you should go for a poorly-paying "career" as a Reiki practitioner. If, on the other hand, you have ethics and do not want to lie to people for the rest of your life, you should find a better choice of career.
Sorry, but them’s the facts.

You have to check in your state to see if you need to be licensed as a massage therapist. Some states make you get licensed first.
Reiki is one of those things you either get it or you don’t. I have been a massage therapist for 20 years and I have had so many massage therapists do Reiki on me and frankly I have never felt a thing or gotten any relief. Give me a real massage any day.
There are people who swear by it though.

Certainly yes.
I am a Reiki Master Healer, with an experience of more than 6 years.I used to practice this almost free, when ever I had free time, but with the span of time and my regular Reiki practice + Meditation, the results are getting better and better.
I am associated with Import / Export business for the last 15 years and have traveled many countries, like Japan , Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, Hongkong, China , Mexico and France.
But now I am thinking to switch over to Reiki as a full timer, as this is a way to serve the Humanity in a much better way.
I had been treating a variety of patients locally but now I want to provide my services world wide.
I have successfully treated chronic Patients with Heart, kidney, brain and many more.
I also do Psychic Surgery. These days using this Psychic surgery in specially Heart and Kidney related disorders where medical science fails to support.
Most of the time Reiki practitioner are associated with massage therapy but I like to do Reiki only distantly, I do mostly healings by Reiki / Cosmic Energy distantly. This saves a lot of time, with similar best results.
If I can render my services as a Reiki practitioner to any hospital or any esteemed organization related to this, I will be very happy to work with.
Best Regards,
With love and light,

I think you could do Reiki for a living, but I think it would be a good idea to do a few other things too, to help diversify yourself and to build a large client base.
Some other things that go well with Reiki would be Esoteric Healing, where they work to balance your chakras. I met a lady who does Reiki and Esoteric Healing and she seems to be doing alright. You could go for massage therapy, learn Reiki and Esoteric Healing and those would all be in keeping with your alternative healing practice. You could do aromatherapy, or Rolfing.
You could also learn acupuncture, or acupressure and couple that with your Reiki. You can do all kinds of cool things.
